7 IPL Matches to be held in Hyderabad

Its Cricket time for Hyderabadis. 7 cricket matches in the forthcoming IPL tournament are going to be held in hyderabad.
Venue and the ticket booking system will be revealed soon.

Revised IPL schedule

Union Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal confirmed getting the revised schedule. "We have received the schedule and we have also received the request for sending the revised schedule to the state DGPs for their comments. We are waiting for their comments and the final decision will be taken after that," he said.

Six new venues - Vadodara, Vishakhapatnam, Nagpur, Cuttack, Ahmedabad and Indore - have been added in the revised schedule.

The Home Ministry has forwarded the revised schedule to the DGPs of the respective states for their view on holding the matches on the revised dates.

The IPL organisers are keeping the revised schedule to their chest and will make it public only after getting the clearances from the respective authorities.

The sources said that the IPL would get the securities nod soon and will make the schedule public on Tuesday.

Team owners, expectedly, are finally heaving a sigh of relief.

“Relieved to hear that new dates will be announced on Tuesday”, said Shilpa Shetty.

Kings IX Punjab owner Ness Wadia said that he was looking forward to the second season of the IPL.

IPL commissioner Lalit Modi had suggested the names of new venues in the wake of security concerns after the attack on Sri Lankan cricketers in Lahore.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan government has requested IPL to bring back the inaugural ceremony to the Pink City and assured every co-operation including adequate security arrangement for the matches scheduled in Jaipur. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Sunday called a top level meeting to review the security situation in this context.

Gehlot has even written a letter to ICC vice president Sharad Pawar and cricket board (BCCI) president Shashank Manohar to pave the way for holding all seven matches of defending champions Rajasthan Royals team in the state.

Dhoni threatens to resign from captaincy

CRICKET CAN never be out of sensational news for long. And as it turns out to be the same again with the news of Mahendra Singh Dhoni threatening to resign from captaincy after a spat with the selectors. The report was leaked from someone in the selection committee to the media that Dhoni has offered to resign from the high-profile post following pacer Rudra Pratap Singh’s exclusion from the one day international team for the current series but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vehemently denied the development.
The main point to ponder over here is that if such meetings are leaked to public, which are held in close rooms then what is the credibility of the officials in the selection committee. Such leakages don’t only create rifts but also vitiate the atmosphere in the team. Dhoni was also disturbed with the leaks and said, “We will have debate inside and things like this should not come out. I think if they are suppose to come out, it’s better we have a live television out there because what comes out nobody should know apart from the eight guys who are sitting down." He further added that “It would be good for the Indian cricket if you quote that person."
Lack of say in selection matters for the captain of India has always been touted as the basic differences between captain and selection committee.
I feel very absurd because a captain is as good as his team and thus should have full authority in selecting team for his choice. How come you expect the results if you are not giving the team as per the captain’s choice. There should be more responsibility on the selectors if such things continue and they should be held responsible as well when the team fails. If the selectors are so irresponsible then this can be detrimental for the game in the country. Team selection is the first step towards the building process and if we get into trouble with the first step only then we are heading nowhere.
I also feel that media should report such sensational news with enough evidence. This is the pinnacle of the Indian cricket and when our team is aiming to be the world number one by the end of the April, such stupid leakages and differences can throw us from our aim. There is no point in staying and captaining just for earning good bucks and compromising with whatever the board officials say. Lets Dhoni and his team focus on the crucial tie against England ahead and I hope Dhoni stay as usual with his self respect and flamboyance.

India wins the series against England

India has won the hero honda cup today by winning the 4th match against England. After rain has played a spoil sport, the match is reduced to 22 overs per innings. So, its nothing but a T20 match. Blistering batting by the Indians, especially Sehwag and Yuvraj put India at 166 at the end of 22 overs. Following DL method, the target for England was set 198, which they eventually failed to beat. Finally India won the match by 19 runs and Sehwag adjudged man of the match.
